Fortisip Multi Fibre Strawberry 200ml (Nutricia)

Fortisip Multi Fibre is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Fortisip Multi Fibre is a nutritionally complete, high energy (1.5kcal/ml), ready to drink, milk shake style nutritional supplement, enriched with 4.6g fibre per bottle, for the dietary management of disease related malnutrition. Fortisip Multi Fibre can be used to supplement the diet of patients unable to meet their nutritional requirements from other foods, or used as a sole source of nutrition. Fortisip Multi Fibre contains a blend of six types of dietary fibre in the ratio of 60:40 soluble:insoluble. A mix of fibres may help to maintain normal bowel function.

Fortisip Multi Fibre is available in 200ml bottles, with a flexible straw attached, in 5 flavours: Orange, Strawberry, Banana, Vanilla, and Chocolate.

Indications

For enteral use only. ACBS approved, prescribable on Form FP10 (GP10 in Scotland) for the following indications:

•  short bowel syndrome

•  intractable malabsorption

•  pre-operative preparation of undernourished patients

•  inflammatory bowel disease

•  total gastrectomy

•  dysphagia

•  bowel fistulae

•  disease related malnutrition

Contraindications

Not for intravenous use. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia. Not suitable for patients requiring a fibre-free diet.

Precautions

Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition in children under 6 years of age.

Directions for use

Fortisip Multi Fibre is best served chilled. Shake well before opening.

Storage

Store in a dry, cool place (5-25°C). Shake well before use. Once opened store bottles in a refrigerator for a maximum of 24 hours.

12 months. Best before date: see side of bottle.
